Are you an experienced building surveyor looking to make a meaningful impact in Bristol’s education estate? Join Bristol City Council’s Corporate Landlord team as a Senior Building Surveyor – Education, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving our school buildings and educational facilities.
About the Role
As part of the Growth and Regeneration Directorate, you’ll manage building works across the education portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering high-quality outcomes. You’ll work with systems such as NEC4, SFG20, JobLogic, FastDraft, and Concerto to support Hard FM contracts and asset management. You’ll carry out condition surveys, manage budgets, oversee maintenance programmes, and act as a consultant to other departments. You’ll also take on responsibilities under CDM regulations, including the role of Planning Supervisor and Designer.
We’re seeking someone with:
- A qualification suitable for Corporate Membership of the CIOB or equivalent.
- Senior-level project management experience in building repair, refurbishment, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of building contracts, financial control, and CDM regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A full UK driving licence and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Experience with NEC4, SFG20, FastDraft, Concerto, and CAD software is desirable, as is familiarity with public sector and local authority procedures.
