Newcastle City Council is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Specialist: Housing to lead the procurement and implementation of a new Housing and Repairs Management System.
This is a critical and high-profile assignment that will play a key role in ensuring the Council continues to meet its regulatory and compliance obligations while delivering an effective, modern and customer-focused service for tenants and residents.
The Role
We are looking for an individual with extensive experience of housing management systems, repairs systems, procurement and programme delivery within a social housing environment.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide specialist expertise and leadership throughout the lifecycle of the project, from procurement and selection through to implementation, mobilisation and embedding new ways of working.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the procurement of a new Housing and Repairs Management System.
- Managing the implementation and successful delivery of the chosen solution.
- Providing expert advice on housing management and repairs service requirements.
- Ensuring programme outcomes support regulatory compliance and service improvement objectives.
- Managing change and supporting the transition to new processes and systems.
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, suppliers and project teams.
- Providing clear leadership, challenge and strategic direction throughout the programme.
About You
You will have:
- Significant experience within social housing services.
- Proven experience of procuring and implementing housing and/or repairs management systems.
- Strong programme and project management skills.
- Experience of leading organisational change and service transformation activities.
- The ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- A track record of delivering complex projects within challenging timescales.
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
