We are seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Building Control to support the leadership and operational management of a busy local authority Building Control service in London. Working closely with the Head of Building Control, you will help oversee a team of Building Inspectors and technical officers, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act 2022, and associated legislation.
The role will involve managing complex and high-profile developments, supporting service improvement, maintaining performance standards, and building strong relationships with developers, residents, and partner organisations. This is an excellent opportunity to play a senior role in delivering a modern, customer-focused, and safety-led Building Control service.
You will be an experienced Building Control professional with strong technical knowledge and leadership capability, ideally gained within a local authority environment. You should hold Class 3 Registered Building Inspector status (or equivalent) and have experience managing complex building projects and supervising professional teams.
