About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated Building Surveyor to play a key role in maintaining and improving an operational property portfolio in Central London. As a Building Surveyor, you will:

  • Manage a variety of building projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality property services to our community and building users.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess building conditions of properties.
  • Manage the procurement process for minor works projects and evaluate contractor bids.
  • Oversee the project lifecycle from planning to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, building regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with building users and contractors to minimise disruption and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Maintain project documentation and contribute to broader property management initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated with building regulations, best practices, and relevant technologies.
  • Identify and diagnose complex repairs in communal areas or minor works to properties.

About You

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, or a related construction discipline (essential).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as RICS or CIOB (desirable).

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proficient working knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and other statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Practical experience in conducting building surveys, inspections, and condition assessments.
  • Experience in managing small-scale projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of procurement in public sector organisations.
