Job Description

To carry out the full range of Building Control surveying activities including site inspections and plan appraisals, investigating dangerous structures, responding to customer enquiries, coordinating statutory consultations, demolitions, and liaising with experts, internal and external stakeholders.

To proactively manage contravening building works and enforce the requirements of the building regulations through effective enforcement in line with service policies and procedures and the Operational Standards Rules published by the Building Safety Regulator. To investigate alleged breaches of building regulations, gather evidence, and attend court as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Building Inspector register must hold class 2 or 3
  2. Must have local government experience
