As the only dedicated global phase 1 clinical trials specialist with facilities across Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, we are committed to “advancing medicine and improving lives” by attracting exceptional talent.
Since our founding in Australia in 2004, Nucleus Network has successfully conducted over 1500 phase 1 clinical trials for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies from the USA, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China. At our London facility, you’ll work in a supportive, well-structured environment that values clinical excellence, collaboration, and development - without the pressures of a traditional acute ward.
As a Clinical Nurse Supervisor, you’ll play a key leadership role in our multidisciplinary clinical unit, ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of Phase I trials. You’ll lead and mentor a team of skilled nurses and clinical staff, oversee shift operations, and maintain the highest standards of participant care and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with leadership and operational oversight in a setting that values precision, teamwork, and participant safety. If you already have experience in early-phase or healthy volunteer studies, you’ll feel right at home - but we also welcome nurses from acute settings who bring strong clinical judgement and a calm, confident approach to patient care.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate shift operations, ensuring smooth clinical delivery and adherence to protocol requirements
- Provide clinical oversight during dosing, sampling, and participant monitoring
- Support staff development through mentorship and hands-on leadership
- Ensure documentation, safety reporting, and study conduct meet GCP and regulatory standards
- Act as a clinical escalation point for operational or medical emergencies
- Work collaboratively with project management, pharmacy, and laboratory teams
About You:
- Current NMC registration (Registered Adult Nurse, unrestricted)
- Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate clinical experience, which includes leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Experience in Phase I or early-phase research highly regarded
- Competent in venepuncture, cannulation, and ECG monitoring (or willing to train)
- Current ILS or ALS certification
- Strong communication, time management, and decision-making skills
- Flexible to work across a rotating Early, Day, and Late shift roster, predominantly Monday – Friday
Benefits:
- Meaningful Impact - 'advancing medicine, improving lives' of people around the world
- Professional Growth Opportunities - we believe in investing in our employees' development
- Employee Recognition - your hard work and achievements will be recognised and rewarded
- Employee Wellness Initiatives - we prioritise the health and wellbeing of our employees
