Hammersmith & Fulham Council is looking for a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) to join our Sensory Team within the INSPIRE service. The role supports children and young people aged 0‑25, helping them reach their full potential through specialist interventions and collaboration with educational settings.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage an individual caseload of deaf children and young people.
- Work closely with nurseries, early years settings, schools and post‑16 providers in the private, voluntary and independent sectors.
- Deliver high‑quality specialist interventions to support learning and development.
- Support families and enable equal access to educational opportunities.
- Collaborate with multi‑professional teams and external partners to embed deaf education within mainstream provision.
- Monitor progress and ensure children and young people can achieve their full potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- QQT of the Deaf (or equivalent teacher qualification with experience of deaf children).
- Experience working with deaf children and young people, and an understanding of how deafness can impact learning, interaction and relationships.
- Commitment to supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: £57,632 – £62,496 pro‑rata per annum, plus SEN allowance depending on qualifications and experience.
- Contract type: Permanent.
- Work location: 145 King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JT.
- Vetting requirements: Enhanced DBS Check.
