About The Role

Are you passionate about safeguarding young people, driving high quality practice, and leading meaningful multi‑agency collaboration? We are looking for a specialist, dynamic, and motivated Missing Persons Coordinator to play a pivotal role in shaping how we protect children and adolescents at risk in our borough. As our Missing Persons Coordinator, you will be the operational lead and central point of contact for all matters relating to missing children and young people. This is a strategic and highly influential role, combining expert practice oversight with strong partnership working across social care, police, health and community services. You will ensure that our responses to missing episodes are timely, consistent, and informed by high quality data, while supporting practitioners and managers to meet statutory responsibilities and safeguard our most vulnerable young people. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of safeguarding innovation, supporting the borough’s mission to create a safe, inclusive and protective environment for all our young people.

About You

  • A recognised qualification in social work or another child/youth related social care field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children, young people and families.
  • Strong knowledge of contextual safeguarding, exploitation, missing episodes and risk assessment.
  • Confidence in decision making and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a complex workload and work autonomously while supporting others.
  • A commitment to partnership working, equity, inclusion and high quality practice.
