At Hammersmith & Fulham, we are committed to creating a net zero borough by 2030 and tackling the climate and ecological emergency in a way that improves lives, strengthens communities and supports a thriving local economy. To help deliver this ambition, we are seeking an exceptional Climate Engagement Manager to lead our borough-wide approach to climate engagement, communications, behaviour change and partnership development.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how residents, businesses, community organisations and partners engage with climate action across one of London's most ambitious local authorities. Working at the heart of the Council's Climate & Transport service, you will lead a small team and a growing engagement portfolio spanning climate action, fuel poverty, air quality, active travel and energy efficiency.

A key priority for this role will be developing meaningful relationships with local businesses and employer networks, helping organisations understand the opportunities presented by the transition to net zero and encouraging action that supports H&F Council's climate ambitions. You will work with businesses of all sizes, alongside schools, community organisations, residents' groups, senior officers and Members, to build a shared vision for climate action across the borough.

We're looking for a strategic, collaborative and highly motivated professional who can bring people together around a shared vision for climate change mitigation and adaptation. You should have significant experience of leading engagement and behaviour change programmes, strong programme and people management skills, and an understanding of how engagement and advocacy can be used to achieve maximum impact on emissions and climate.

  • We are driven: We will only settle for the very best. We seek to continually improve and put our residents, customers and businesses at the heart of everything we do.

Our commitment to you: At H&F you will have access to a comprehensive total reward package as well as joining a flexible working employer and as such all staff can request flexible working. We believe an inclusive workplace is about the visibility and representation of our local diverse community - it is about open and transparent decision making co-produced with staff and residents. It is about respect for diversity and a shared identity that seeks to encourage fair and transparent recruitment, retention, and career progression.
