Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank is a well-established and busy charity making a positive impact in our community. We are dedicated to providing essential support to those facing crisis, delivering foodbank sessions, offering wraparound support and working with partners to meet local needs.

We are looking for an experienced Driver, Warehouse Support worker to join our team for 2 days per week - Thursday and Friday. You will be loading and driving our vans to venues across the Hammersmith and Fulham borough to provide food for foodbank sessions and collect donations. In our Hammersmith warehouse, you will be packing food to be loaded onto the van, handling donations and resources and keeping our warehouse safe, compliant and organised. Our Warehouse Coordinator covers this role on the other 3 days of the week.

We are looking for someone reliable and committed, as our foodbank sessions rely on you to deliver food every time on time. You will be used to driving and conducting daily manual handling work safely, moving heavy crates on and off our vans.

Key responsibilities
  • Van Driver: Work with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure all weekly deliveries and collections are done according to the timetable.
  • Warehouse Support: Following the required processes for packing, storing, weighing and recording all food supplies in or out of the warehouse.
  • Compliance and Health & Safety: Ensuring a safe, compliant, pest‑free working space following processes and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with our dedicated team: Working closely with our small staff team and our large volunteer team to ensure smooth logistics across our services.
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience in van driving and manual handling work, following compliance processes and having attention to detail.
  • No more than 3 penalty points on your current UK drivers licence.
  • A reliable and committed approach to helping our charity deliver services.
  • A friendly and professional personality, representing our charity out in the community when driving our branded vans, collecting from donors and dealing with volunteers.
What we'll offer
  • 2 days per week (15 hrs) Thursday and Friday, indefinite contract following successful completion of probation.
  • 33 days annual leave (pro rata to part time equivalent).
Requirements
  • A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
  • Appointment will be subject to verification of the successful candidate's driving licence and driving record.
  • An Enhanced Criminal Records check is required for this role as we work with vulnerable people in society.

Location: Based at HFFB Warehouse, Ravenscourt Road, W6 0UD, with regular journeys to all other local Foodbank centres.
