Based in London, we work with some of the city's top garden designers to deliver exceptional, high-specification outdoor spaces. Our team of expert landscapers and horticulturists take pride in upholding the highest standards, serving an exclusive clientele that includes many high-net-worth individuals across West and North London.
We are seeking a full-time Horticulturist to join our team, maintaining prestigious residential gardens in West and North London. This senior, hands-on role involves a broad range of horticultural tasks including daily garden maintenance, seasonal planting, lawn care, pruning, and plant care. The successful candidate will also be involved in soft landscaping following garden builds and will assist in the installation and upkeep of irrigation systems. All work must reflect the high standards that HCL is known for.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain lawns, garden beds, planters, and soft landscaping to a high standard
- Carry out all core horticultural tasks: planting, pruning, weeding, watering, soil preparation, and lawn care
- Operate and maintain horticultural tools and machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers)
- Safely handle tools and equipment in line with health and safety regulations
- Support the delivery of garden projects through plant-ups and irrigation installation
- Participate in training sessions, site meetings, and health and safety briefings
- Proactively report site issues and suggest practical improvements
- Proven experience in high-end domestic garden maintenance
- Strong knowledge of plants, horticultural techniques, and seasonal care
- Experience with irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Proficient in the safe use of horticultural equipment and tools
- High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Horticultural qualifications or certifications (RHS Level 2 or equivalent) are advantageous
- Essential experience in horticulture or grounds maintenance
- Knowledge of garden tools, machinery, and safety practices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Physically fit, well-presented, and committed to health & safety standards
- Confident and professional when interacting with clients
- Full driving licence (preferable but not essential)
In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK or must obtain permits to work in the UK prior to application. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required during the recruitment process.
