Hamilton Woods Associates are currently working on behalf of a public sector client to recruit for a Tree Surgeon on a permanent basis. The role will be based from their Bradford depot with travel across West Yorkshire. A vehicle is provided.
Responsibilities of the Tree Surgeon include:
- Climbing trees and structures using specialist equipment, working safely at heights, and adhering to regulatory safe working practices.
- Utilising a variety of machinery and tools such as chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and climbing equipment.
- Loading and unloading works vehicles safely and driving specialist vehicles as needed.
- Ensuring all equipment complies with industry standards and LOLER regulations.
- Conducting risk assessments and operating machinery safely.
- Engaging with customers, resolving or reporting repairs while on-site, and working collaboratively with colleagues and managers to deliver efficient services.
- Participating in emergency out-of-hours service, attending community-based emergency situations, including storm-damaged trees.
Requirements of the Tree Surgeon include:
- CS30/31, CS38/CS39, CS40/41 or equivalent, and powered pole pruner certification.
- Experience using woodchippers and experienced with trailer and plant towing.
- Thorough understanding of all related health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Valid full UK driving licence and ability to drive specialist vehicles as required.
