Hamilton Woods are currently recruiting for a social housing provider to recruit for a Health and Safety Officer to cover maternity on a 12-month FTC. The role will require one day in their offices, with some travel to site.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Officer:
- Assisting the H&S Manager in leading and embedding a strong and robust health and safety culture across the organisation.
- Implementing H&S Team actions.
- Assisting with the development of policies and procedures in relation to health and safety.
- Supporting management in ensuring effective H&S systems are being operated within.
- Contributing to the risk assessment processes, including safe systems of work and COSHH, under the guidance of the H&S Manager.
- Working with the H&S Manager and the HR team to help identify H&S training requirements.
- Assisting in the delivery of H&S training where appropriate.
- Preparing and reporting on H&S performance.
- Overseeing the accident and incident management system and ensuring investigations are completed in a timely manner.
- Providing advice and guiding investigations for accidents, incidents and near misses.
Essential Requirements of the Health and Safety Officer:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety.
- Experience of working within a H&S team.
- Experience dealing and responding to H&S queries.
- Experience being involved in risk assessments, accidents, near misses, audits and investigations.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
