We are currently working on behalf of a public sector client to recruit to a Risk & Assurance Manager on a permanent basis. The main responsibilities will be to lead their risk and assurance work and ensuring they remain compliant. You will be owning their risk and controls framework, data protection, business continuity processes and internal audits. The role will have direct management of one Lead Risk Officer.
Responsibilities of the Risk & Assurance Manager:
- Leading and managing the organisations risk and assurance functions
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, statutory and regulatory data requirements such as data protection and GDPR
- Owning the risk and controls framework, ensuring it supports strategic decision making and provides assurance for board and regulatory oversight
- Producing annual performance reports for senior management and board
- Ensuring the board is kept up to date of changes and developments in regulation
- Leading the planning of the annual internal audit programme and to oversee its delivery
- Acting as the lead contact for whistleblowing, ensuring all cases are investigated and managed appropriately
- Leading, developing and managing the risk and assurance team, setting clear priorities and objectives
Requirements of the Risk & Assurance Manager:
- Strong experience across business risk and assurance
- Working knowledge of risk management and compliance within a complex and regulated business
