Hamilton Woods Associates are currently recruiting for a Deputy Service Manager on a permanent basis to work effectively in the management of offenders in their transition from custody into the community.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide effective supervision, support, appraisal, and line management of staff, ensuring wellbeing, professional development, and consistent performance.
- Represent the organisation at external events and contribute to internal activities that support organisational identity and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead the assessment and management of risk to residents, staff, and the public, including security procedures and liaison with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage complex and challenging behaviour calmly and professionally using assessment, planning, and de‑escalation strategies.
- Support referral processes, assess needs and risks, manage placements, and liaise with central referral units and partner agencies.
- Work collaboratively with statutory agencies, including report writing for courts and other bodies in line with confidentiality and policy requirements.
- Contribute to rota management, provide on‑call cover, and support operational continuity, including emergency and recall processes.
- Manage and oversee medication safely in line with organisational and statutory policies.
- Lead and contribute to team meetings, brief staff on risks and changes, and ensure learning from incidents.
- Support recruitment and retention of high‑quality staff in collaboration with management and HR.
- Manage high‑risk individuals, including complex multi‑agency public protection cases.
