Our client, a social housing provider in Blackburn, is looking for a Housing Support Worker to work within their service that supports vulnerable adults with complex needs such as those facing homelessness and substance misuse issues.

The role is based on a rolling 6 week rota:

  • Weeks 1/2/3: Monday- Friday: 8am-4pm
  • Weeks 4/5: Monday- Friday: 12am-8pm
  • Week 6: Tuesday/ Wednesday 12am-8pm and Saturday/ Sunday 8am-8pm

Responsibilities of the Housing Support Worker include:

  • Managing a caseload of clients with complex needs
  • Liaising with Local Authorities housing teams surrounding new applications
  • Supporting in the maintenance of the client waiting list
  • Assessing new clients support needs
  • Ensuring clients understand, and abide by their tenancy agreements
  • Enabling clients to access employment, education and training opportunities
  • Safeguarding clients and reporting any concerns
  • Monitoring tenants rent accounts and supporting them to maximise their income
  • Promoting clients to live independently and build lasting life skills

Essential criteria of the Housing Support Worker include:

  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience within a similar supported living environment
