Our client, a social housing provider in Blackburn, is looking for a Housing Support Worker to work within their service that supports vulnerable adults with complex needs such as those facing homelessness and substance misuse issues.
The role is based on a rolling 6 week rota:
- Weeks 1/2/3: Monday- Friday: 8am-4pm
- Weeks 4/5: Monday- Friday: 12am-8pm
- Week 6: Tuesday/ Wednesday 12am-8pm and Saturday/ Sunday 8am-8pm
Responsibilities of the Housing Support Worker include:
- Managing a caseload of clients with complex needs
- Liaising with Local Authorities housing teams surrounding new applications
- Supporting in the maintenance of the client waiting list
- Assessing new clients support needs
- Ensuring clients understand, and abide by their tenancy agreements
- Enabling clients to access employment, education and training opportunities
- Safeguarding clients and reporting any concerns
- Monitoring tenants rent accounts and supporting them to maximise their income
- Promoting clients to live independently and build lasting life skills
Essential criteria of the Housing Support Worker include:
- Enhanced DBS
- Experience within a similar supported living environment
