We are currently working on behalf of a social housing provider in Buckinghamshire, to recruit for a Void Surveyor to manage void works from inspection and specification through to delivery and final quality checks.

Duties of the Void Surveyor:

  • Carry out inspections of vacant properties and assess any repair, maintenance, or compliance requirements to prepare homes for reoccupation.
  • Produce detailed scopes of work and raise orders in accordance with approved budgets and financial procedures.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
  • Monitor projects through regular site visits, undertaking quality assurance checks throughout the lifecycle of works.
  • Verify that properties meet agreed re-letting standards and are ready for occupation within target timescales.
  • Coordinate and oversee completion of all relevant safety and compliance obligations prior to occupation, including certification and statutory inspections.
  • Identify property condition issues, including environmental and structural concerns, and arrange appropriate remedial actions.
  • Investigate tenant damage cases and support the recovery of costs where responsibility falls outside normal wear and tear provisions.
  • Manage defects identified following occupation, ensuring timely resolution and continuous service improvement.
