An established, multi-site business in the FMCG/Retail sector is seeking a Finance Manager to support the commercial and procurement functions within its retail operations. This role will be key in delivering accurate financial insight, improving margin control, and identifying opportunities to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

This is a commercially-focused, hands-on role that requires strong business partnering skills and a proactive approach to finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a proactive Finance Business Partner to commercial and procurement teams
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, including:
    • Monthly and quarterly forecasts
    • Annual budgeting
    • Variance analysis and bridge reporting
    • Ad-hoc commercial performance insight
  • Support consignment reconciliation and margin management
  • Present departmental financial performance at weekly trading meetings
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting divisional targets and results
  • Challenge and validate forecast assumptions and key performance indicators
  • Prepare monthly review packs with detailed commentary
  • Provide commercial insight and recommend improvements to business performance
  • Handle royalty and rebate calculations, grower loan requests, and FX exposure analysis
  • Produce proposals for forward currency purchases
  • Maintain robust financial controls across all business areas
  • Contribute to project work and ad-hoc support for senior finance leadership

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and company policies
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and approval in line with delegated authorities
  • Safeguard segregation of duties and strong financial governance

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA preferred)
  • Experience in FMCG, retail, manufacturing, or commodity-traded environments
  • Proven ability to influence and support non-financial stakeholders
  • Commercially minded with a track record of driving operational improvements
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Strong ownership mindset with a \'can-do\' attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all business levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
