Day Rate: £650 - £750 per day
We are supporting a well-established and growing construction business to appoint an Interim Head of Finance during a key period of change and growth. This is a senior leadership role, offering full ownership of the finance function for a regional business unit. You will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, providing both financial control and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
The Role
- Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring strong financial control and governance
- Oversee month-end, management reporting and balance sheet integrity
- Deliver robust budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes
- Own cashflow forecasting and working capital management
- Provide commercial insight and challenge to operational and commercial teams
- Support development and investment appraisals
- Oversee joint venture reporting and partner relationships
- Lead audit processes and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements
- Drive improvements across systems, processes and reporting
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience operating at Head of Finance / Financial Controller level within construction or a similar project-based environment
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background
- Excellent FP&A capability, including budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Experience working with joint ventures and complex reporting structures
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment
