Hamilton Woods Associates are currently working on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation, who are recruiting for a Children and Family Support Worker to work across their service for families affected by domestic violence and homelessness.

Responsibilities of the Children and Family Support Worker:

  • Supporting children, young people and families living within refuge services
  • Organising and creating group play sessions for children of all ages that have experienced domestic abuse
  • Undertaking risk assessments
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Leading play activities during school holidays and after school
  • Creating family-based activities to facilitate children and parent relationships
  • Supporting positive parenting by providing parenting support and programmes
  • Providing practical information and assistance to women about local services for children, such as nurseries or schools
  • Fostering multi-agency working

Essential Criteria of the Children and Family Support Worker:

  • UK Driving License and access to own vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience working within a similar supported living environment
