Hamilton Woods Associates are working with a charity that is looking for a Supported Housing Officer to work with males fleeing domestic violence.
Responsibilities of the Supported Housing Officer include:
- Providing housing and tenancy related support to males fleeing domestic violence
- Identifying their needs and agreeing a programme of support via floating support, telephone support or housing related support
- Ensuring that the telephone helpline is staffed
- Referring men into the crash pad accommodation and ensuring that they get a high level of support in order for them to move on into more appropriate accommodation
- Supporting men living within dispersed units of longer term accommodation
- Managing referrals and conducting needs and risk assessments
- Conducting health and safety checks
- Completing inductions
- Ensuring clients adhere to their tenancy agreements
- Fostering joint working with other agencies and services to provide holistic support
- Assisting with benefit applications
Essential criteria of the Supported Housing Officer include:
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to undergo one
- Experience with vulnerable clients within a housing support capacity
- UK driving license and access to own vehicle
