Financial Accountant
Location: Leicester
Salary: Β£35,000 - Β£45,000
Working Pattern: 5 days on-site
The Opportunity
Our client is a successful and fast-paced business based in Leicester, looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join their finance team.
This is a broad role covering day-to-day accounting, month-end reporting, forecasting and supporting the wider finance function. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for managing members of the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment runs
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany agreements and journal postings
- Prepare accruals and prepayments and support the month-end process through to management accounts
- Assist with monthly forecasting, budgeting and basic cashflow forecasting
- Support the business through year-end audit and work with external advisors where required
- Identify and resolve day-to-day accounting issues, ensuring accurate financial records
- Complete relevant statistical and regulatory returns
- Provide support and guidance to the wider finance team, including staff management
- Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and process improvements
About You
We're looking for an AAT-qualified accountant who is comfortable working in a medium-sized, fast-paced environment and enjoys a varied role.
You'll ideally have:
- AAT qualification - essential
- Studying towards ACCA would be advantageous
- Strong ERP/accounting system experience
- Good Excel skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Previous experience managing or overseeing finance staff
