A leading facilities management provider is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Door Carpenter / Inspector to join a growing specialist team covering South West London, Surrey, and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a developing division within a major FM business, offering long-term stability, plenty of overtime opportunities, and the chance to work across a varied portfolio of commercial sites.
The Role
Working Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, you will be responsible for carrying out fire door inspections, remedial works, maintenance, and installations across multiple client sites. The role will involve using a newly implemented inspection system while ensuring all works are completed in line with current fire safety regulations and SLA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out visual inspections on fire doors
- Completing remedial works including:
- Replacing doors and door sets
- Installing seals, ironmongery, and signage
- Minor painting and finishing works
- Conducting fire door PPM and reactive repairs
- Assisting with fire door installations
- Providing accurate remedial quotations
- Supporting with occasional carpentry and joinery tasks
- Ensuring all compliance paperwork and records are completed accurately
- Following all health & safety procedures including RAMS and COSHH
- Collaborating with wider engineering and FM teams across the portfolio
Requirements
- Previous experience working on fire doors (internal and external)
- Carpentry or joinery background
- Good understanding of current fire door regulations
- Experience completing inspections and remedial works
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds in Carpentry / Joinery
- Experience with BM Trada standards or accreditation is highly desirable.
