We are recruiting for an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer / Site Engineer to join a well-established Building Services provider on a prestigious commercial property in Kings Cross. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a flagship single-site contract, offering long-term stability, ongoing training, and genuine career progression within a growing organisation.
This is a Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm position where you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day engineering operations across the site. Working independently, you will deliver both planned preventative and reactive maintenance while liaising closely with the client and coordinating specialist subcontractors when required.
The successful candidate will be electrically qualified, with a strong background in commercial building services maintenance and the ability to confidently manage a site with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Electrical fault-finding and diagnostics
- Maintenance of single and three-phase electrical systems
- Emergency lighting testing and maintenance
- Fire alarm system checks and fault response
- Sprinkler system monitoring
- Maintenance of AHUs and FCUs
- Generator inspections and basic maintenance
- Working on VAV and VRF systems
- Servicing pumps and motors
- Water treatment tasks, including temperature monitoring, tap tests, dosing, and cooling tower checks
- Operating and monitoring the Building Management System (BMS)
- Maintaining site documentation, e-logbooks, compliance records, and statutory paperwork
- Coordinating and supervising specialist subcontractors
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting compliance audits and ensuring site standards are maintained
- Fully qualified in Electrical Engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
- Recognised apprenticeship (desirable)
- Minimum of five years' experience within commercial building services maintenance
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Able to work independently and manage a single-site operation
- Experience maintaining compliance documentation, site logbooks, and e-log systems
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Auditing experience is advantageous
- £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- No call-out rota
