We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a prestigious, high-end commercial site in Waterloo, working for a market-leading building services provider. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team of five engineers, gain further technical training, and develop your career within a high-profile environment.
The role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a large commercial building, ensuring all mechanical plant and equipment operates efficiently. You’ll also be responsible for fault-finding, updating site logbooks, liaising with clients and contractors, and reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Mechanical Engineer Duties
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works.
- Maintaining AHUs, FCUs, pumps, bearings and mechanical seals.
- Working on sprinkler systems, chilled water systems and pressurisation units.
- Completing water treatment checks, tap testing, dosing and cooling tower checks.
- Monitoring water temperatures and carrying out general plumbing duties.
- Maintaining generators and associated plant equipment.
- Carrying out basic BMS operation and monitoring.
- Updating site logbooks and ensuring maintenance records are accurate.
- Responding to client requirements and supporting overall site performance.
Requirements
- Level 2 minimum qualification in a mechanical discipline (C&G, EAL, NVQ or equivalent).
- At least three years’ experience in commercial building services maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical plant and equipment.
- Previous client-facing experience.
- Apprentice-trained background desirable.
Salary & Benefits
- £53,000–£56,000 per annum.
- Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.
- Static site in Waterloo, London.
