We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a well-established building services team, working across a mobile contract covering the North East postcode region.

The role will involve working across a varied portfolio of commercial offices, schools, and other commercial buildings, carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure all sites remain compliant, safe, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and building services equipment
  • Reactive maintenance and fault finding on electrical systems, including emergency breakdown response
  • Repair and replacement of lighting, emergency lighting, sockets, distribution boards, and control panels
  • Inspection, testing, and basic electrical compliance checks where required
  • Minor electrical installations and upgrade works
  • Diagnosing faults on single and three-phase systems
  • Supporting statutory compliance checks and maintaining site records
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures
  • Liaising with site staff, contractors, and helpdesk teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Completing accurate reports, logbooks, and maintenance records
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2360 / 2357 or equivalent electrical qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience within building services maintenance or a similar environment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently across a mobile role
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
Package & Benefits
  • £40,000 - £44,000 basic salary
  • Company van provided
  • Mobile role covering NE postcode area
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Strong overtime earning potential
  • Call-out rota: 1 in 10 (£140 per week retainer)
