We are seeking a qualified Mobile Plumber / Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established facilities maintenance team covering a portfolio of commercial sites across the West Midlands. This is a mobile role carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), reactive repairs, fault finding, and general mechanical/plumbing maintenance across multiple buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and reactive repairs across multiple sites
- Diagnose faults and complete effective troubleshooting and repairs
- Maintain and repair plumbing and mechanical systems including pipework, drainage, water systems, pumps, tanks, and associated equipment
- Install, modify, and repair pipework systems including cutting, fitting, soldering, and brazing
- Conduct leak detection, system testing, calibration, and backflow prevention works
- Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to complete works accurately
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures
- Complete all service reports, maintenance records, and documentation accurately and on time
- Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts, and internal teams
- Participate in a 1 in 8 call-out rota
Requirements
- NVQ or City & Guilds in Plumbing & Heating / Mechanical Systems (essential)
- Ideally G3 Unvented qualification (or willingness to complete)
- Strong fault-finding and reactive maintenance skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Comfortable working across multiple sites independently
Package & Benefits
- £33,000 - £36,000 salary
- £125 standby allowance (1 in 8 call-out rota)
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
- 25 Days annual leave + Bank Holidays
- Overtime opportunities where applicable
- Option to purchase an additional week’s holiday
