Data Centre Electrical Engineer Manchester £42,000 – £45,000 Looking for a new role within a Data Centre? We\’re recruiting for an experienced, motivated Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join our client\’s maintenance team. You\’ll gain exposure to an excellent, state of the art, critical environment, join a market leading company, be provided ongoing training and the necessary opportunities to progress internally. As a Data Centre Electrical Engineer, you will carry out Planned Preventative (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, actively fault find / trouble shoot, general building maintenance, liaise with subcontractors, report into the Site Supervisor and ensure all the critical M&E systems are working efficiency. To be successful in this Data Centre Electrical Engineer position, you must be fully qualified in electrical installations / engineering (City and Guilds / EAL / NVQ or equivalent), at least 3 years within commercial building maintenance, a good understanding of critical M&E systems and live within commutable distance to site. Data Centre Electrical Engineer Duties: Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and mechanical systems Conduct High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) isolations and switching operations in compliance with site safety procedures Operate and maintain Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, standby generators, HV/LV infrastructure, and precision cooling systems Monitor and control Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA systems to ensure stable and efficient plant operations Carry out daily plant checks, scheduled inspections, and comprehensive fault diagnostics Support the creation and execution of switching schedules, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards Collaborate with shift teams to respond to system alarms, equipment failures, and operational escalations Maintain accurate records, including operational logs, work permits, and statutory documentation Data Centre Electrical Engineer Requirements: HVAP authorised (Desirable) Experienced in working in a Data Centre environment or a critical site (Banking, pharma) City & Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3 (Or equivalent) & 18th Edition Strong H&S understanding Salary and Package: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Parking on site Company pension scheme 25 days annual leave + bank holidays Exposure to a brilliant site Join a market leading company Internal progression Additional training If you live in the Manchester area and you\’re interested in the role above, apply today with an up to date CV!
