Boiler Operator Weybridge £45,000
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Boiler Operator to join a large, highly regulated facilities operation in Weybridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating and monitoring commercial or industrial boiler plant who is looking to develop their career within a structured and technically demanding environment.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of boiler systems, ensuring plant availability, compliance and performance while working closely with the wider engineering and facilities team.
Key Responsibilities Safely operate and monitor steam and hot water boiler plant.
Monitor pressures, temperatures, water levels, alarms and safety interlocks.
Carry out plant start-up, shutdown and emergency procedures in line with established procedures.
Respond appropriately to abnormal operating conditions and alarms.
Carry out boiler water sampling, testing and maintain accurate records.
Identify and escalate abnormal water chemistry trends or plant conditions.
Maintain accurate boiler logbooks and operational records.
Support statutory, insurance and compliance inspections.
Assist with Written Schemes of Examination (WSE) and associated inspections.
Work within Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work procedures.
Undertake safe isolation of plant in accordance with relevant procedures.
Report defects, incidents and near misses promptly.
Work closely with supervisors, Approved Persons, contractors and specialist engineers.
Maintain and develop technical competencies, with the opportunity to progress towards Competent Person and Approved Person status.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience operating or supporting commercial or industrial boiler plant.
BOAS Operator certification (Cat 1 and/or Cat 2), or the ability to achieve this.
Experience working within a controlled, safety-critical or high-risk environment.
Understanding of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work.
Experience supporting inspections, audits or statutory compliance activities.
Strong understanding of safe boiler operation and emergency procedures.
Good attention to detail with strong record-keeping skills.
A calm, methodical approach when dealing with abnormal or emergency conditions.
A strong commitment to health, safety and compliance.
