We are excited to be recruiting for a passionate, self-starting Chef for our client in Stockton Heath. We are looking for a friendly, organised and passionate Chef to join the team at a busy children's play centre. This is a job share position, offering flexibility while requiring a degree of adaptability to support the needs of the business, but the anticipation is this will be a minimum of 35 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, healthy meals and snacks for children and families during breakfast and lunchtime service. You will play a key role in ensuring our kitchen operates safely, efficiently and to the highest hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy breakfast and lunchtime meals.
- Plan and prepare food in line with dietary requirements and allergies.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Order food supplies and kitchen stock as required.
- Monitor stock levels and carry out effective stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with all HACCP and food safety procedures.
- Complete daily food safety and temperature records.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
- Clean food preparation and kitchen areas in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the job share arrangement to ensure continuity of service.
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a chef, cook or kitchen professional.
- A good understanding of food hygiene, food safety and HACCP requirements.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience of stock management and ordering.
- Knowledge of allergen management and dietary requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to working arrangements and shift patterns.
- A genuine interest in providing healthy, nutritious food for children and families.
