A very successful, well-established Mid-sized Business is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant into a newly-created, broad and highly visible role within its finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware, hands-on finance professional who enjoys variety and wants to play a key role in shaping how finance supports the wider business.
Working closely with the Head of Finance and senior finance leadership, you’ll act as a crucial link between day-to-day transactional finance and more strategic, forward-looking activity.
The Role
This is a genuinely broad position, ideal for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the detail while also contributing to the bigger picture. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head of Finance and No.2 with day-to-day financial operations
- Acting as a bridge between transactional finance and senior leadership
- Reviewing and improving existing processes across purchase ledger, sales ledger, and cash management
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activity
- Producing meaningful financial analysis and insight for non-finance stakeholders
- Playing a key role in developing management information
- Assisting with ad hoc projects and business improvement initiatives
