Hamilton Select is seeking a dynamic Wholesale E&S Distribution Leader to accelerate our distribution strategy, strengthen broker partnerships, and amplify Hamilton’s presence in the market. In this high-impact role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership to sharpen distribution effectiveness, align broker engagement with underwriting appetite, and drive profitable growth across all product lines. The ideal candidate brings strong underwriting expertise, deep Wholesale/E&S market experience, and a robust network of broker relationships. This U.S.-based role is remote, with a preference for candidates in the greater NY/NJ area, though we remain flexible for exceptional talent.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Hamilton Select, you’ll be a hands-on leader, collaborating with underwriting teams and wholesale broker partners to shape and execute Hamilton Select’s distribution strategy. As the Head of Hamilton Select’s U.S. E&S Distribution, you’ll listen closely to our trading partners, connect Hamilton’s capabilities to customer needs, and build trusted, collaborative relationships both internally and externally, all to deliver Hamilton’s value proposition with clarity and impact.
What you will help us do
- Strategic Distribution Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and CUO to develop and execute the overall distribution strategy for Hamilton Select.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to drive the evolution of digital distribution capabilities to enhance broker engagement and accessibility.
- Align Hamilton Select’s E&S appetite with targeted broker teams and offices nationwide, ensuring high-impact distribution focus.
- Broker Relationship Management
- Strengthen and manage relationships with brokers at all organizational levels, ensuring connectivity and meaningful engagement.
- Executive-level relationship building.
- Engagement with team and product line leaders.
- Support development of early talent and create opportunities for emerging professionals to engage with broker partners.
- Facilitate consistent and productive interactions between underwriting teams and distribution partners.
- Performance & Business Management
- Partner with underwriting leaders and key brokers to establish profit and production targets.
- Monitor performance against goals; proactively identify opportunities and areas needing intervention.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to monitor and improve Hamilton’s service levels, ensuring best-in-class broker experiences.
- Market Presence & Brand Elevation
- Serve as a primary Hamilton Select brand ambassador, increasing visibility and positioning the organization as a market leader.
- Coordinate Hamilton Select’s attendance and presence at key industry events (e.g., WSIA, PLUS).
- Collaborate with Hamilton Global Strategy, Hamilton Re and Group Communications colleagues to ensure cohesive messaging.
- Collaborate with the Group Communications team to elevate thought leadership, marketing initiatives, and Hamilton Select’s social media presence.
What you require for the role
- Prior underwriting experience is required.
- Strong background in the E&S/Wholesale market with a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics.
- Established and respected relationships with Wholesale/E&S brokers.
- Ability and willingness to travel 50–75% of the time.
