Hamilton College is a non-denominational Christian independent school for children and young people from the ages of 2-18. The school encompasses Nursery, Junior, Middle and Upper levels generating a truly 'family' atmosphere for the individual as they journey through the school.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our dedicated childcare team and ensure the delivery of high-quality early years education and care. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about child development, staff leadership, and fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for our young learners.

This role would be well suited for an individual who has strong experience as a Senior, Depute Manager or in a current Manager's role and looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have experience in an early years leadership role and hold relevant childcare qualifications (minimum SCQF Level 7 or equivalent), with PDA or working towards a BA in Childhood Practice being desirable.

They will demonstrate a strong understanding of early years frameworks, including GIRFEC, Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition, and possess excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. A clear commitment to safeguarding, child wellbeing and positive developmental outcomes is essential, alongside the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies.

Applicants should demonstrate a positive, proactive and professional approach to early years education. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships with parents, carers and staff. Applicants must be supportive of the ethos and values of the school.

The successful applicant should be registered with SSSC, must be either an existing member of the PVG Scheme or be prepared to join this scheme and prove their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. An offer of employment will be subject to two satisfactory references and a clean report from Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. This is an all year post. Hours: 40 hours per week. Worked between the hours of 8am – 6pm, subject to staffing schedules.
