Hamilton College is a non-denominational Christian Independent School for children and young people from the ages of 2-18. The school encompasses Nursery, Junior and Senior levels generating a truly ‘family’ atmosphere for the individual as they journey through the school. We are seeking a dedicated and organised individual to take on the role of First Aid Coordinator. The First Aid Coordinator plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, caring and well managed school environment. This is a dual responsibility role combining first aid management with key administrative and attendance duties.
The successful candidate will:
- Take the lead on all first aid provision within the school
- Respond promptly and appropriately to first aid incidents
- Support learners with ongoing medical needs
- Maintain accurate medical records in line with school policies and statutory guidance
- Oversee first aid supplies, equipment and compliance checks
- Work closely with parents, staff and external health professionals to ensure the highest standard of care
In addition, the First Aid Coordinator and Administrative Assistant will support the smooth running of the school office by assisting with daily attendance procedures which include:
- Recording learners’ attendance accurately
- Ensuring compliance with school attendance policies
- Handling sensitive information securely in line with GDPR requirement
The successful candidate should have the following attributes:
- Calm, reliable and able to respond confidently to first aid situations
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with learners, staff, parents and health professionals
- Can work independently while being a positive member of a busy administrative team
- Has (or willing to gain) relevant first aid qualifications
The successful applicant must either be an existing member of the PVG Scheme or be prepared to join this scheme and prove their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. An offer of employment will be subject to two satisfactory references and a clean report from Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
