Hamilton Bradshaw, the private investment office of James Caan CBE, is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead one of its top-performing professional services businesses through its next phase of growth and towards a planned exit.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for a charismatic, commercially driven CEO who understands how to build and scale a people-led, fee-generating business.

Hamilton Bradshaw has more than 20 years of experience investing in and growing service-led businesses. Our team combines principal capital with hands-on operational expertise and has successfully scaled and exited 19 businesses.

The role

Working closely with James Caan and the Hamilton Bradshaw investment team, the CEO will take full responsibility for the strategic direction, commercial performance and long-term value creation of the business.

The successful candidate will strengthen the leadership team, accelerate organic growth, attract outstanding talent and implement a clear client-acquisition strategy—ultimately preparing the business for a successful exit.

Key responsibilities

• Set and deliver a clear strategy for growth, profitability and value creation
• Take full ownership of business performance, including revenue, EBITDA and cash generation
• Build a high-performance culture with clear accountability across the organisation
• Attract, develop and retain exceptional leadership and fee-generating talent
• Strengthen the company’s client-acquisition strategy and create a repeatable engine for growth
• Improve management information, operational discipline and commercial decision-making
• Identify opportunities for organic expansion, new services and selective acquisitions
• Work closely with the Hamilton Bradshaw team on strategic and operational priorities
• Develop and execute a clear plan to position the business for a successful exit

Candidate profile

We are looking for an accomplished professional services leader with:

• A proven track record of leading and scaling a people-based, fee-generating business
• Strong commercial instincts and a history of delivering sustained revenue and profit growth
• Experience progressing from a high-performing practitioner into management and ultimately senior leadership
• The ability to inspire people, set demanding standards and drive performance throughout a business
• A strong understanding of talent attraction, development and retention
• Demonstrable success in building and executing effective client-acquisition strategies
• Experience managing through change, professionalising operations and preparing a business for its next stage of growth
• The credibility and communication skills to work effectively with shareholders, senior management and external stakeholders
• A strong academic background and relevant professional qualifications
• Previous experience within a private equity-backed business would be highly advantageous
• Lead one of Hamilton Bradshaw’s top-performing portfolio businesses
• Work directly with James Caan CBE and an experienced private equity and operational team
• Take ownership of an ambitious growth and value-creation strategy
