This role requires you to live within Greater London as the job includes some early/late shifts on event days.

OVERALL PURPOSE:

To exceed client's expectations by planning and coordinating events to the companies five-star standards. At the core of the role is the importance of client management and our service offerings, attention to detail, internal collaboration, financial control, team support, overcoming business challenges, providing solutions, developing client relationships, and working to deadlines. A continuous desire to explore new ideas / creative innovations and improvements, consistently seek out new partners, suppliers, collaborators, and ways of doing things.

CORE EVENT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Professionally organise and execute all allocated events, ensuring the highest standards of excellence collaborating with clients and having their objectives in mind, whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships based on trust with clients at all times.
  • Continually drive standards for the department and communicate effectively and promptly between all internal and external departments, ensuring event details are synchronised across all departments including sales, operations, AV, kitchen, and accounts.
  • Fostering good relationships with all departments including the kitchen, sales, operations, Blue Hut, hotel, and other partners.
  • Proactive communication, responding in an efficient and timely manner to all enquiries and questions from our clients.
  • Undertake account management activities to encourage repeat and further business and long-lasting relationships with the business.
  • To control and run all events from a business administration perspective ensuring accurate accounts, up to date payments, and demonstrate an understanding of the financial workings of the business.
  • Demonstrate the ability to improve event standards by identifying and rectifying day to day problems and regularly reviewing methods of service, systems and processes.
  • Maximise the impact of all events prioritising internal services and client offerings.
  • Actively supporting the rest of the team with their events, offering help, guidance and support where needed.

SPECIALIST EVENT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the running of the Weekly Event Meeting to a consistent and high standard.
  • Asking the right questions to ensure that the EM and OM's have made the correct considerations and highlight any missing or incorrect information.
  • Act as consultant to all events during the event meeting.
  • Head of Events Support and Collaboration.
  • Communicating internal or external concerns or considerations to HoE and Directors.
  • Supporting the Head of Events with business development, process and client experience projects as required.
  • Training junior members of the team.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • 2+ years' experience in Events Management ideally from a venue, catering or agency background, including developing, implementing and managing events.
  • Client and account Management skills including building rapport, negotiation and influence.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be cost conscious and capable of effective cost control.
  • Very strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to find solutions to meet client briefs and budget.
  • High standard of personal presentation.
  • Client focused with the desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
