We are seeking an experienced Application Architect with strong General Electric (GE) domain knowledge to join a global technology services organisation on a 6-month fully office-based contract in Wokingham (5 days per week on-site). The successful candidate will design, develop, and govern enterprise application solutions, combining expertise in application architecture, cloud technologies, system integration, and application modernisation with a deep understanding of GE business processes, industrial operations, asset management, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain enterprise application architecture aligned with business objectives
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performing application solutions
  • Lead application modernisation and cloud migration initiatives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Develop architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices
  • Design and implement API, microservices, and integration architectures
  • Support GE-related applications, platforms, and digital ecosystem integrations
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership to development teams
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies

What You Will Ideally Bring:

  • ~10+ years of experience in application development and architecture
  • Strong expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Application Modernisation, Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, Integration Frameworks, DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, and Database/Data Architecture
  • Experience working with GE business units, industrial systems, or GE digital solutions
  • Understanding of GE operational processes, asset management, manufacturing, utilities, or Industrial IoT environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Desirable: experience with GE Digital products such as Predix, APM, Historian, CIMPLICITY, or Proficy; TOGAF, Azure Architect, AWS Architect or equivalent certifications; knowledge of IIoT, SCADA, MES, and OT/IT integration; and experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Rate: £525/day - Inside IR35
  • Location: Wokingham (Fully office-based)
