Our client is a successful technology solutions business with established SA practices across cloud and infrastructure. Networks and Security is their next major growth area — and they're hiring the person who will build it. This isn't a role where you slot into an existing team. You'll be the first dedicated Network & Security SA, shaping the practice, picking your vendors, and driving some of the most profitable work in the business. Their sweet spot is mid‑market — 200 to 3,000 users — where they already win well and want to do significantly more.
You'll work closely with the sales team on complex pre‑sales engagements, translating customer requirements into compelling, technically sound solutions. Not too salesy. Not heads‑down techie. The person who can do both.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Lead pre‑sales engagements across Network & Security — from first whiteboard to final BOM
- Produce High‑Level Designs (HLD) that are technically rigorous and commercially deliverable
- Own Cisco CCW and bill of materials production — you know your way around the tooling
- Work across LAN, WAN, Network Security, SD‑WAN, and SASE (Zero Trust Networking)
- Be the technical authority in customer conversations — credible, clear, and trusted
- Shape the Networks & Security SA practice — vendor selection, methodology, and approach
- Collaborate with the existing Cloud and Infrastructure SA teams on cross‑practice opportunities
VENDORS YOU'LL WORK WITH
Vendor agnostic — recommend what's right, not what you're told to push
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A genuine Solutions Architect — technically deep enough to design it, commercially smart enough to sell it
- Strong background across LAN, WAN, Network Security, SD‑WAN, and SASE / Zero Trust
- Cisco‑heavy background preferred — CCW experience a strong advantage
- Comfortable with HLD production and whiteboard sessions with customers at any level
- Experience working in a reseller, VAR, or systems integrator pre‑sales environment
- Mid‑market experience (200–3,000 users) — you understand the commercial and technical dynamics of this space
- Confident communicator who can hold a room without overselling — customers trust your advice
THE PACKAGE
- £70,000 – £80,000 base salary depending on experience
- £100,000 OTE — commission tied directly to networking business wins
- Hybrid: 3 days per week in Watford
- Head of practice opportunity — build it your way
WHY THIS ONE IS WORTH A LOOK
- Greenfield — you're not joining someone else's practice, you're building it
- Networks & Security is their fastest growing focus area — leadership buy‑in and budget to match
- Vendor agnostic in practice — recommend what's right for the customer, not what you're told to push
- Profitable pipeline already exists — you're accelerating something that's already working
- Sitting alongside established Cloud and Infrastructure SA teams — support, collaboration, and credibility from day one
