Job Description
VisionPLUS Developer- 6 months initially – Inside IR35 – Hybrid in Sheffield
Hamilton Barnes are seeking an experienced, hands-on VisionPLUS Developer to join one of the UK's leading financial organisations on an initial six-month contract. In this hybrid role (three days per week onsite in Sheffield), you will own the development and production support of VisionPLUS Online CICS components (CMS, FAS, VMx, TRAMS, IAS), collaborating closely with internal engineering, DevOps tooling, legal, risk management, cyber-security teams and external software vendors to drive continuous improvement and ensure robust, compliant credit-card processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, debug and maintain VisionPLUS CICS online components (CMS, FAS, VMx, TRAMS, IAS), ensuring high availability and performance in a production environment.
- Leverage deep knowledge of credit-card processing workflows (WINGSFM/VMX) to troubleshoot issues and enhance system functionality.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root-cause analysis on live issues, and apply fixes or workarounds with minimal business impact.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle – requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and support – ensuring robust delivery.
- Drive incremental enhancements to VisionPLUS processes, tooling and governance – identifying automation opportunities and championing best practices.
What You Will Ideally Bring:
- Hands-on experience with VisionPLUS CMS modules and FAS/VMx/TRAMS/IAS components.
- Expert skills in Cobol, CICS, JCL, VSAM, IAM, EZT and File-Aid/Manager for batch and online processing.
- Strong understanding of credit-card system flows and WINGSFM/VMX integration.
- Demonstrated ability to own requirements through to deployment and production support.
