An experienced Snowflake Database Administrator is required to lead the management, optimisation, and governance of a secure, high-performing Snowflake environment for a leading organisation. This is a 6-month rolling contract, operating inside IR35, with on-site presence required several times per week in Norwich.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and manage Snowflake environments: Oversee user accounts, roles, and permissions in Snowflake.
Implement and maintain data security and governance: Ensure secure access, data masking, and compliance with policies.
Optimize database performance and storage: Monitor and tune performance, manage virtual warehouses, and storage costs.
Manage database objects and workflows: Create and maintain schemas, tables, views, and procedures.
Support disaster recovery and data replication strategies: Implement back-up, restore, and cross-region replication plans.
What you will ideally bring:
Deep expertise in Snowflake setup, configuration, and best practices.
Proficiency in SQL & Snowflake SQL, including standard ANSI SQL and Snowflake-specific extensions.
Experience with Cloud Platforms, preferably AWS, including services like S3, IAM, EC2.
Hands-on experience with traditional databases such as SQL Server, Teradata, or Exadata.
Knowledge of security and governance practices, including role-based access control, data masking, and auditing in Snowflake.

Daily Rate: Up to Β£500 Per Day (Inside IR35)
