Location: Heathrow (Longford)

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (flexible for the right experience)

Working pattern: Onsite, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm

We are recruiting for an experienced Radio Service Engineer to support critical radio communications across Heathrow Airport, with occasional work at other London transport locations. This is a hands-on, onsite contract role, suited to someone who lives locally and is comfortable working in secure, operational environments. The role also carries responsibility for leading a small team of three engineers on day-to-day activities.

Role overview:

The role is primarily based at Heathrow, with limited travel to other London sites such as Gatwick, London Bridge Station, West Ham Stadium, and sections of the Elizabeth Line. Travel outside Heathrow is typically no more than one or two days at a time.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Repairing and maintaining two-way radio equipment
  • Installing and maintaining radios in vehicles
  • Supporting desktop radio systems with ground-to-air capability
  • Installing and maintaining indoor DAS systems
  • Supporting radio infrastructure, primarily Simoco and Hytera, with some Motorola
  • Fault-finding and resolving radio communication issues on live operational systems

Company vans are provided. A standby rota is in place and already staffed. Overtime is limited.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience working with UHF/VHF radio systems
  • Two-way radio / DMR engineering experience
  • SC clearable, including a minimum of 5 years working in the UK with a clean, consistent employment history
  • Able to commute reliably to Heathrow (Longford)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day task coordination within a small engineering team
