Job Description
Senior Telephony Engineer – 6 months – MUST BE BASED IN SCOTLAND
My client is seeking a Senior Telephony Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in a major programme of work. This is an initial 6-month contract opportunity where you will act as the Cisco Telephony specialist, providing both technical leadership and hands-on expertise throughout the design and implementation phases.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 months (View for Extension)
- Day Rate: £430 – £460 Per Day
- Determination: Outside IR35
- Location: MUST BE BASED IN SCOTLAND
- Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for the Cisco Telephony workstream within the wider programme
- Design, configure, and implement Cisco voice solutions, including CUBEs and CUCM
- Troubleshoot complex dial plans and voice routing issues
- Provide expertise in SIP protocol analysis and resolution of VoIP-related issues
- Support integration of Direct Routing for Microsoft Teams
- Maintain and support analogue technologies including gateways, MDF, Krone blocks, and associated wiring
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and project teams to ensure smooth telephony delivery
Experience
- Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco CUBE
- Designing and managing complex dial plans
- Deep understanding of SIP and VoIP troubleshooting
- Implementing and supporting Direct Routing for Microsoft Teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco CUCM
