Senior Network SME - 6-Month Contract - Office Based (London)
Network Systems Support Engineer responsible for supporting the data network and all other aspects of networking including Firewall and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- To take ownership of network related incidents and troubleshoot from first alert to resolution.
- To have good customer facing skills when liaising with users.
- To co-operate with other team members and other internal teams.
- To liaise and take charge of vendors for incident resolution.
- Maintaining and where necessary creating a full set of comprehensive network data diagrams and documentation.
- To conduct project activities to specific time lines and to deliver network data project tasks and objectives assigned to the team.
- Depth knowledge about network advanced routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and inter protocol distribution.
- Solid experience of LAN, WAN, MPLS and Cloud connectivity technologies and management.
- In-depth knowledge about DC Architecture and implementation, its functioning and operational experience.
- In-depth knowledge about Cisco Routers/Switch and software maintenance and upgrades.
- Solid experience of managing multivendor DC infrastructure within a financial institution.
- Good knowledge of Tetration & Firewall technology and Dynamic routing through Firewalls.
- Proven track record of delivering programs and projects on the core Infrastructure.
- Experience in dealing with new technologies to improve Infrastructure.
- Experienced in dealing with vendors and third party suppliers.
- Proven track record of managing project teams and building effective partnerships with peers.
- Proven experience of managing a 24/7 production environment.
- Experience with comprehensive disaster recovery architecture and operations.
- Solid experience of implementing, upgrading, maintaining and monitoring Cisco Network Devices.
- Extensive experience of implementing Firewall policies and network security.
- In-depth knowledge about Cisco ACI Spine and leaf architecture, ASA software, Cisco Campus technologies and Tetration.
- In-depth knowledge about IP NAT, Policy based routing, advanced routing protocols (OSPF/BGP/EIGRP), VRFs and Multicast.
- Expert knowledge about CheckPoint, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA Firewalls and F5 load balancers.
- Able to demonstrate very good troubleshooting skills for networks problems.
- Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
- Day Rate: Up to £400 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: London - Office Based
