- Senior Network Support Engineer β Fortinet technical lead on a skilled, established team
- Β£55,000 | Hybrid | Wednesday office only
Our client has a skilled team of six network support engineers and they're looking for a technical lead to sit at the top of the escalation chain.
This is a 3rd and 4th line role with a genuinely proactive bent β you're not just resolving tickets, you're identifying patterns, driving BAU improvement projects, and stopping problems before they happen.
The stack is 95% Fortinet β Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Forti SD-WAN, and Forti SASE.
If you've spent your career going deep on Fortinet and you want a support-focused role with real technical authority and minimal commute (just Wednesdays in the office), this is worth a serious look.
- WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Own 3rd and 4th line escalations across the Fortinet estate β the senior technical authority on the team
- Drive proactive support β identify recurring issues, run BAU improvement projects, and reduce ticket volume before it happens
- Manage and support Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Forti SD-WAN, and Forti SASE environments
- Support SD-WAN deployments and ongoing management across the customer base
- VPN configuration, management, and troubleshooting across the estate
- Use Logic Monitor or PRTG for network monitoring and performance visibility
- Support the project team when required β dip into project delivery alongside BAU
- Contribute to a staggered shift pattern β 7amβ5:30pm across a team of six
- TECH STACK
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Deep Fortinet expertise β Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, and SD-WAN hands-on experience
- SD-WAN experience essential β Fortinet SD-WAN preferred, Meraki or HPE Aruba Silverpeak also considered
- Consultant or senior engineer background happy to step into a senior support-focused role
- Proactive mindset β you look for root causes and fix them, not just close the ticket
- VPN configuration and troubleshooting experience across the Fortinet stack
- Logic Monitor or PRTG monitoring platform experience beneficial
- Fortinet NSE5 certification preferred β other NSE certs considered
- Comfortable in a staggered shift environment β 7amβ5:30pm rotated across the team
- THE PACKAGE
- Hybrid: Wednesday in the office, rest from home
- Staggered shifts: 7amβ5:30pm across a team of six
- WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
- Almost entirely Fortinet β if that's your world, this role lets you live in it
- Proactive support focus β you're improving the network, not just firefighting
- Just one day a week in the office β genuinely flexible working arrangement
- Skilled, established team β you're joining peers, not carrying juniors
- Project team exposure β variety without it being a pure delivery role
- Senior technical authority β real escalation ownership, not another mid-level support seat
