We’re working with a well-established, blue-chip organisation delivering network cabling projects within Data Centre (DC) environments across the South. Due to an internal move, they’re now looking to appoint a Data Centre Project Surveyor / Install Manager to take ownership of surveys, on-site supervision, and project close-out.
This role is not a hands-on installation position. It’s ideal for someone who has / wants to come off the tools and is now comfortable managing people, surveying sites, and feeding accurate information into estimation and delivery teams.
The RoleAs Project Surveyor / Install Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the project lifecycle from site survey through to documentation and close-out.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site surveys across DC and enterprise environments
- Supervising installation teams (structured cabling & fibre projects)
- Gathering technical and commercial information for the estimation team
- Managing on-site changes and ensuring accurate documentation
- Supporting delivery of network cabling projects (racking, stacking, fibre optics)
- Ensuring projects are closed out properly with full documentation
- Acting as the on-site point of contact for stakeholders
This role covers sites across Slough, Heathrow, Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas, including major DC clusters (LHR).
About YouEssential:
- Background in structured cabling / network installations
- Someone who has worked on the tools and moved into supervision or management
- Strong on-site knowledge of fibre optics and cabling installations
- Comfortable managing engineers and subcontractors
- Good understanding of installation standards and quality control
Desirable:
- Exposure to estimating or survey-to-cost handovers
- Data Centre or mission-critical environment experience
