We’re looking for an Event Engineer to join a global managed transport provider supporting live sports coverage and 24/7 linear TV for major broadcast network. They operate a global fibre network spanning two geographically separated rings connecting major data centres. Engineers travel to venues worldwide across a rolling tour schedule (music, snooker, golf, tennis and table tennis) to pre-stage, operate and pack down broadcast transport equipment on-site. This role is currently a 3 years fixed-term contract with the view to become permanent after completion.

Responsibilities:
- Travel to live sporting event venues to pre-stage, install and operate broadcast transport equipment.
- Support the transport of live event and 24/7 linear TV signal across a global fibre network.
- Pack down and relocate equipment between back-to-back events, including extended in-country stays where multiple events fall in one location.
- Act as the on-site technical point of contact, remaining composed and effective under pressure with clients watching.
- Troubleshoot IP networking, encoding/decoding and site interconnect issues in real time on-site.
Skills Required:
- Ideally two of the following: IP networking knowledge (VLANs, IP addressing, subnetting), video encoding/decoding experience (MPEG, JPEG 2000, JPEG XS or similar), site interconnect technology experience, or fibre/optical network knowledge.
- Happy travelling up to 70% of the time including weekends and out of hours work.
- Fluent English speaker with ideally EU/UK passports for international travel and visa complexity.
