The company is looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a busy IT operations environment, supporting Microsoft cloud and on-prem infrastructure. The role focuses on resolving escalated incidents, supporting end‐user environments, and maintaining stability across M365, endpoint management, and core infrastructure services.
Responsibilities- Provide 2nd line support for incidents and service requests across desktop, server, and cloud environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Microsoft 365, Windows environments, and Active Directory/Entra ID
- Support endpoint management using Intune, including device configuration, compliance, and updates
- Assist with user access management, including MFA, Conditional Access, and permissions
- Support and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop/Remote Desktop Services environments
- Perform patching and updates across systems, ensuring security and compliance standards are met
- Work within an ITSM tool (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira), managing ticket queues, prioritisation, and escalations
- Support network‐related issues including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles
- Collaborate with 3rd line teams and external vendors for complex issue resolution
- Experience in a 2nd line/support engineer role within a Microsoft environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
- Active Directory/Entra ID
- Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
- Hands‐on experience with Intune/Endpoint Manager
- Understanding of MFA, Conditional Access, and identity management
- Experience supporting AVD or RDS environments
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Experience working with ITSM tools and SLA‐driven environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills
- Location: Hybrid - Birmingham
- Contract: 2 Months (Initial)
- Salary: £250 per day (Inside IR35)
