We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead end‑to‑end data migration within the Energy & Utilities sector. The role focuses on transforming legacy systems into scalable cloud platforms with a strong emphasis on data integrity, governance, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end data migration delivery, from discovery through to cutover
- Design, review, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure and Snowflake
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all migration stages
- Build and maintain cloud‑based data platforms with strong performance and cost efficiency
- Implement DataOps practices including CI/CD, automation, and monitoring
- Apply Energy & Utilities domain knowledge (e.g., SCADA, CNI datasets) to data solutions
- Establish data governance, lineage, and validation frameworks
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Energy or Utilities experience is a big plus.
- 10+ years in data engineering, including 5+ years in large‑scale data migration programs
- Strong expertise in SQL and data analysis
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and Azure (ADF, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Platform)
- Proven experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud‑native data solutions
- Deep understanding of Energy & Utilities data models (including SCADA/CNI datasets)
- Experience implementing DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and mentor teams
