Responsibilities:- Lead and manage security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Act as a technical manager for identity and access management services, ensuring secure, automated access for university staff and students.
- Design and implement long-term security strategies, focusing on automation and proactive threat detection.
- Oversee the outsourced 24/7 security operations service, ensuring seamless protection of critical infrastructure.
- Build strong relationships with technology teams, influencing security processes and policies.
- Conduct regular reviews of security tools, technologies, and processes to ensure effectiveness.
- Lead the University's response to security incidents, coordinating recovery efforts with internal teams and external vendors.
- Maintain and improve security documentation, ensuring alignment with ITSM best practices.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on emerging security threats and industry best practices, actively participating in relevant professional networks.
- Proven experience managing security operations, including SIEM, EDR, and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management technologies (e.g., Microsoft Entra, M365).
- Familiarity with network security best practices, including firewall management, network segmentation, and intrusion detection.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience leading technical teams through complex security projects.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, CREST, GIAC) or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
