The firm is seeking a Senior Security Proxy Engineer to join on a 6-month hybrid contract based in London (3 days on-site), focusing on implementing, operating, and optimising enterprise proxy infrastructure to enable secure access to internal and third-party services, while supporting regulatory compliance, security controls, and large-scale user productivity.
Responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise Proxy and secure web gateway services, managing policies for web access control, traffic inspection, TLS decryption, and egress IP enforcement.
- Monitor Proxy service health, availability, and performance, performing root-cause analysis for incidents and participating in incident response and post-incident reviews.
- Support compliance activities by maintaining logging, retention, and inspection settings, and providing Proxy logs and traffic analysis for security investigations and audits.
- Implement and maintain identity-aware Proxy policies integrating with identity providers and authentication systems, supporting onboarding of new applications and SaaS services.
- Maintain operational documentation, configuration standards, and troubleshooting runbooks, collaborating with network, endpoint, IAM, cloud, and security teams.
Skills / Must Have
- 6+ years hands-on experience supporting enterprise Proxy or secure web gateway platforms, with strong knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, certificates, and encryption/decryption processes.
- Experience implementing and managing Proxy policies for traffic inspection, filtering, and outbound control in production environments.
- Solid networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and load balancing with proven ability to troubleshoot complex Proxy-related access and performance issues.
- Experience with identity-centric access models, SSO, and device or user-based policy enforcement within Proxy environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-delivered or hybrid Proxy environments, with exposure to automation or scripting for Proxy configuration and monitoring.
